The Grid at the 24 Hours of Le Mans
As part of the build up to the 24 Hours of Le Mans I helped to organise the grid for the annual photograph of the cars that will take part in the world famous race in just two weeks time.
There were 54 cars to place on the grid and working with my colleagues at the ACO we managed to get them all into position in less than one hour. Photographer Eric Gilbert was up in the sky above the grid in a cherry picker while I was on the ground on the other end of a radio following his instructions, relaying them to the team members pushing their cars into position.
Here is a shot of the cars from ground level -
And here is a shot of the gathered media and photographer Eric Gilbert up in the 'Cherry Picker' whose lofty perch enabled him to get the image of the final grid.
