24 Hours of Le Mans - Day One: Driver Video Interviews using the X-T1
This week I am in Le Mans for the greatest motor race in the world, the 24 Hours of Le Mans, which takes place this weekend (14/15 June). The event started yesterday with the traditional public scrutineering of the cars in the Place de la Republique in the centre of Le Mans. This is a great public spectacle where everything happens in front of the fans and it is a great opportunity for the media to speak to drivers as they begin their preparations for the big race on Saturday.
In my role as the FIA Media Delegate for the World Endurance Championship, which the 24 Hours of Le Mans is round 3 of the eight round championship, I, and press officer Fiona Miller, interviewed on video seven drivers for the FIA WEC website and social media. These were shot on the Fujifilm X-T1 and 10-24mm f4 lens using a Nikon ME1 external microphone on a 3m extension lead to allow me to put the mic as close to the driver as possible. The videos were recorded in 1080P 30fps.
Check out three of the interviews below and remember to select full screen and set the quality to 1080P.
