Race Day at Le Mans

At 3pm today the 82nd edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans will get underway with 54 cars due to take the start of the world's most famous race.  The build up over the past two weeks has been relentless and now all the preparations will be put to the ultimate test.

Yesterday the fans had further opportunities to walk in the pitlane, get a look at the cars and talk to a few drivers.

The night before the cars were out on track taking part in qualifying, which saw the nr7 Toyota take pole position for this afternoon's race. I went up onto the the top level of the main grandstand to take some slow pan shots of the cars as they went across the finish line (see image at top of this page).
