Sake Barrels at Meiji Jingu, Tokyo

I was reviewing the images I took on the recent trip to Japan and I came across some pictures from the Meiji Jingu Shrine in Tokyo.

These are Sake Barrels that are offered each year to the memory of the Emperor Meiji and the Empress Shoken by the Meiji Jingu Nationwide Sake Brewers Association.  These colourful straw covered barrels are each individually painted and are on display to visitors to the shrine.

All the images were taken on a Nikon D800 and Nikon 17-35mm f2.8 lens
