Leave Nothing But Foot Prints.....

The old saying 'leave nothing but footprints, take nothing but pictures' is something that rings true for us when we walk along the beaches in Scotland.  We do like to pick up interesting pieces of sea glass or drift wood but on the whole we like to observe and protect this very special environment.

We also have a plastic bag in our pockets for picking up bits of rubbish from the beach but we are very lucky that visitors tend to respect the environment and the vast majority take their rubbish home.

The shot above sums up this philosophy, with man and nature walking side by side and the image below of boot prints in the sand at Barns Ness.
