The View from Doon Hill

Doon Hill is becoming one of my favourite photographic haunts as it affords some fantastic panoramic views of Dunbar, the East Lothian coast and the North Sea.

On the highest point there is a concrete marker or tor and this provides a bit of foreground interest for a wide angle image looking towards Dunbar, Belhaven Bay and Bass Rock.

A telephoto shot of Belhaven Bay and Bass Rock from the top of Doon Hill.  I waited until the sun had risen above the horizon to my right so Bass Rock was lit by the morning light.

Because Doon Hill is so exposed the few trees that are the summit of the hill are very wind blown and have grown in some interesting and unusual shapes.
