Sir Chris Hoy: European Motorsport Champion

There are quite a few well know drivers I have had the pleasure to work with over the past few years but there haven't been many 'legends' but this year I have been working with a true sporting legend, cycling golden boy Sir Chris Hoy.

Six times Olympic gold medallist, Britain's most decorated Olympian of all time and 11 times world champion, Chris Hoy transcends his sport.  When he retired from cycling he decided he wanted to race at Le Mans and is now following the Nissan Academy route through sportscars.

On Sunday, along with fellow Scot Charlie Robertson, Sir Chris Hoy secured the LMP3 European Le Mans Series title and can now add 'European Champion' to his ultra impressive sporting CV.

Chris Hoy and Charlie Robertson have taken wins at Silverstone, Red Bull Ring and at the Circuit Paul Ricard with only one DNF (Did Not Finish) at Imola in May through technical issues with the Ginetta-Nissan after starting from pole position.

There is one more race to go in Estoril next month and I wouldn't want to bet against Chris and Charlie taking their fourth win of the season to round off a golden year for the pair.  With the LMP3 title in the bag they now have an entry for the 2016 24 Hours of Le Mans if they want it.  Fingers crossed we see Sir Chris Hoy at the world's most famous race next season.
