KOOZA by Cirque du Soleil
Yesterday as part of the race build up for the 6 Hours of Circuit of the Americas, Round 5 of the World Endurance Championship, there was a special performance of KOOZA by Cirque du Soleil.
Cirque du Soleil are in Austin with the 'Big Top' at the Circuit of the Americas and we had the privilege of seeing the show on Tuesday evening last week. It was amazing and it was my first experience of a Cirque du Soleil performance. The costumes, the performances by the artists and the stage sets were mouth droppingly good.
Obviously we were not allowed to take pictures on Tuesday but yesterday no such restrictions were placed on us so the press photographers headed to the top of the grid to watch the special performance before the US National Anthem was sung by one of the performers.
I captured this set of images on the X-T1 and XF50-140mm f2.8 and XF10-24mm f4.
About KOOZA
KOOZA tells the story of The Innocent, a melancholy loner in search of his place in the world.
KOOZA is a return to the origins of Cirque du Soleil: It combines two circus traditions - acrobatic performance and the art of clowning. The show highlights the physical demands of human performance in all its splendor and fragility, presented in a colorful mélange that emphasizes bold slapstick humor.
The Innocent's journey brings him into contact with a panoply of comic characters such as the King, the Trickster and the Obnoxious Tourist and his Bad Dog.
Between strength and fragility, laughter and smiles, turmoil and harmony, KOOZA explores themes of fear, identity, recognition and power. The show is set in an electrifying and exotic visual world full of surprises, thrills, chills, audacity and total involvement.
KOOZA runs in Austin until the 8 October before it moves to Vancouver. For more information about the show CLICK HERE
If you get chance to see it I can guarantee a 5 star experience you wont forget.
