Circuit Paul Ricard

The Circuit Paul Ricard in the south of France is one of the most iconic race tracks with its brightly coloured red, white and blue strips on the run off areas instead of the usual gravel traps.

This weekend we are at Paul Ricard for the penultimate round of the European Le Mans Series and yesterday morning I took this shot from the balcony of the pit building while waiting for the drivers briefing to begin.  The reflection of the sun off the track was very striking and the strong contrast really lended the image to a mono conversion in post.

The picture was taken on the Fujifilm X100 and Fujinon 23mm f2 lens and was converted to black and white in Silver Efex Pro2.

For more information on the European Le Mans Series, including live streaming of the race at Paul Ricard from midday [BST] today (Sunday 14 September) visit the official website HERE
