RNLI / HM Coastguard Exercise in Dunbar
Today the RNLI crews from Dunbar and Eyemouth were on a joint exercise with the HM Coastguard helicopter from Prestwick and I went along to capture a few moments from today.
The Coastguard helicopter landed in the park at Winterfield for a briefing where the crews got to look around the helicopter that has replaced the Royal Navy Sea King from HMS Gannet and discuss the afternoon's exercise.
While the sun was out, there was a fair wind blowing and showers were coming in from the west.
The two Dunbar lifeboats, the inshore D Class and the Trent All weather boat, plus the Trent class boat from Eyemouth headed out to sea to begin the exercise which saw the helicopter drop a crew member onto the deck of the lifeboat and then winch a casualty back up.
Here are a selection of images from today's exercise all taken on the Fujifilm X-Pro2 with either the Fujinon XF100-400mm zoom, with the 1.4x converter fitted for the shots of the exercise, the Fujinon XF10-24mm f4 and the Samyang 8mm f2.8 fisheye.
