Jeff Carter is Appointed as Fujifilm Brand Ambassador

Leading Japanese camera manufacturer Fujifilm has appointed Dunbar based sport, landscape and travel photographer Jeff Carter as an ambassador for the global photographic brand. He now joins the elite Fujifilm X Photographer line up which includes some of the world’s leading fashion, portrait, street and wildlife photographers.

As well as using the latest professional photographic equipment manufactured by Fujifilm for his work for his agency MacLean Photographic, Carter will test new cameras, lenses and software, writing about his experiences, giving his professional feedback and advising the company on the direction of future products for both professional and enthusiast photographers.

Jeff Carter’s first assignment for Fujifilm was to test a new telephoto lens and camera software prior to the two products world wide introduction at last month's 24 Hours of Le Mans sportscar race in France.  The software he was testing included improvements to the flagship X-T1 camera’s autofocus system that allows the camera to keep a fast moving object in sharp focus, such as a race car moving at 200mph.

“I am extremely proud to be invited by Fujifilm to join the exclusive X Photographer line up and help promote and develop the Fujifilm X-Series cameras and lenses,” said Jeff Carter.  “To be included alongside some of the world’s best photographer’s whose work I have long admired, such as Jim Marks, Damien Lovegrove, Matt Hart and Ben Cherry, is a real honour for me.

“I am the Media Delegate for the company that organises the FIA World Endurance Championship (www.fiawec.com) and the world famous 24 Hours of Le Mans is one of the races I work on.  This gave me the perfect opportunity to test the new camera software prior to its launch to the public at the end of June and the new fast 90mm telephoto lens that will be in the shops in July.

“Fujifilm is a customer led, forward thinking company that is producing a fantastic range of high quality cameras and lenses that appeal to both amateur and professional photographers alike.  I have been using their cameras and lenses for most of my professional career but I moved exclusively to the brand at the end of 2013.  Fujifilm are in the process of developing some very interesting new cameras and lenses and I look forward to helping promote and shape the future direction of Fujifilm’s X-Series range.”

Theo Georghiades, Business Development Manager Fujifilm UK, said: “We are pleased to welcome Jeff Carter to the Fujifilm family.  His work attracted our attention a few years ago and his excellent images demonstrate exactly what our X-Series cameras can achieve in the right hands.

“The X-Series range is just a few years old but it has certainly attracted a lot of attention with the quality of the equipment and the images they produce.  Fujifilm developed a roadmap and over the next 12 to 18 months there will be some very interesting developments that will further establish Fujifilm as the class leading brand.  Our X Photographers are very important in the development process and we look forward to Jeff’s support and feedback as we push forward with our plans.”
