Bass Rock Before The Gannets Return

In next few weeks the Gannets will return to Bass Rock in the Firth of Forth turning this monolith of grey stone into a sea of white.  Bass Rock in home to 140000 birds during the breeding season and the first Gannets are due back later this month.  At the end of our street in Dunbar is a view over the North Sea with Bass Rock dominating the horizon, it is a beautiful sight.

Here are some shots of the rock from Seacliffe, North Berwick and Dunbar on the 1st and 2nd March and we will document the return of the Gannets and show how the face of Bass Rock is changed by the largest gathering of these magnificent sea birds in the world.
