La Forêt Domaniale de Perseigne

On my excursion north of Le Mans I headed out into La Forêt Domaniale de Perseigne, a large forest area 40km north of the city.  With the sun shining through the canopy the sun was lighting up parts of the trees and the ground cover and provided me with ample opportunity to shoot images of sunlit elements of the forest.

For lovers of nature, the forest is home to many animal species (deer, squirrels, boar...), they can observe at leisure.
Personia was the first name given to the forest of Perseigne by Caesar's Legions. Royal forest until 1791, it became property of the State. The massif extends today more than 5,000 acres, offering a wide variety of passages through the trees to the delight of hikers.
