Fujinon 90mm f2 Macro Abilities
The Fujinon XF90mm f2R LM WR is not designed to be a macro lens but the 135mm equivalent focal length makes it ideal for keeping your distance from subjects that suit macro images.
To improve the close focusing abilities of the lend I have a 16mm extender that fits between the lens and the body of the X-T1 which allows the 90mm to focus closer.
I used this combination to captures these images of this colourful spider that had spun its web near to the shrines that we visited near Fuji Speedway (BLOG HERE).
Images taken on Fujifilm X-T1 and XF90mm f2R LM WR with 16mm extender fitted.
Nice Jorogumo. Does your extension tube restrict you to close up shots with your 90mm? What brand extension tube did you get? Could you still autofocus with it?
ReplyDeleteThank you. Yes the extension tubes do restriction the focusing on the lens, you can't leave it in place and use the lens normally. If you go to this blog, there is more information on the extension tubes - http://macleancomms.blogspot.co.uk/2014/06/improving-x-series-macro-abilities.html?q=extension+tube
DeleteAnd also check out this later blog on using the extension tubes - http://macleancomms.blogspot.co.uk/2015/05/close-focus-without-macro-lens.html?q=extension+tube
