Early Morning Start at Barns Ness

The Lighthouse at Barns Ness has been undergoing some renovation and has been covered in scaffolding until recently.  I decided to get up for the sunrise and head out to take some update shots of the newly painted lighthouse.  However when I looked out of the window I noticed the cloud cover was quite heavy and nearly decided to go back to bed.  But my weather radar was telling me to go, so I did.

As I headed down to Barns Ness the sun on the eastern horizon was trying to break through and as I came down the single track road I was presented with a beautifully lit scene.  I could seen the rain clouds coming in from the south so I set to work to capture some images of the lighthouse before the light disappeared.

I also noticed one of the Dunbar fishing boats, the Rockhopper, working just off shore so I was able to capture some shots of the boat working in the sunlight.
