The Kelpies Structure

The Kelpies near Falkirk are becoming one of most photographed tourist attractions in Scotland and trying to find a different photographic take on these two 30-metre high sculptures is a challenge.

Looking through the images I have taken on several visits to Helix Park where The Kelpies are I decided to rework some of my images focusing on the structure of the statues rather than the sculptures themselves.

Sculpture Andy Scott  created The Kelpies with an outer skin made of thousands of stainless steel plates and the patterns are fascinating, so this was to be the focus of my reworking of the images.

On my previous visit I was blessed with fantastic contrasty light as the low sun and blue skies provided an excellent contrast to the cold steel structures.

Using the Fujifilm X-T1 and 10-24mm f4 or 56mm f1.2 lenses I captured a series of images and I chose four to rework for the focus on the structure of The Kelpies.
