Planet Spa



I haven't produced a planet panoramic for a while but a 360 degree image of the WEC paddock yesterday morning at Spa gave me the perfect subject matter.

The procedure for producing a Planet Panorama is quite easy.  I use either Photoshop or Photoshop Elements.  First produce a 360 degree panoramic image; I did this using the panoramic function on the X-T1.  

Open the image in Photoshop / PSE.  First of all crop the image so the ends of the image will match when they are folded together (the shot below is over 360 degrees - it needs to be 360 degrees exactly to work. 

Then invert the image so it is upside down.  Then select 'Polar Coordinates' filter and this wil fold the image to produce a 'planet panorama'.  You then have to make it square by altering the image size so the vertical and horizontal sizes are the same.

Here is the result, with the original panoramic image below.
