Sunlight on Bass Rock

One of the best sights on the East Lothian coast is when the sunlight breaks through broken cloud and strikes The Bass out in the Firth of Forth.  At this time of year there are no Gannets on Bass Rock, so the island is a brown colour.  In the spring the Gannets will return, turning Bass Rock white as 140,000 birds nest and fish the waters around East Lothian and Fife.

This shot was taken on the last day of 2014 with the X-T1 fitted with the Fujinon 55-200mm telephoto lens.
