More Mono Imagery

I feel 2014 could be a year for black and white images.  I have always loved mono pictures ever since I started with photography way back when and I have tried to include black and white images in my portfolio whenever the subject has suited.  However I think this will be the year I concentrate on this genre a little more.

This shot of Belhaven Bay was taken this afternoon.  The light was very 'wintery' with the sun weakly trying to push through the high clouds to the left of this image. The result was a very layered image of different tones that immediately made me think 'mono' when I saw it through the viewfinder on the Fuji X100.

The image was converted to black and white in Silver Efex Pro 2.
