From the Archives

I love looking through the MacLean Photographic archives to see what little gems I can turn up that were missed the first time around for whatever reason. Take this shot from our trip to Berwick on Tweed in November 2012.  The shot that got used was the panoramic shot below but the colourful shot of the person in the orange coat standing in front of the red and white lighthouse at the end of the harbour breakwater was passed over for some reason I can't remember why. I put the image into Photoshop CS and tweaked the levels and vibrance and the shot at the top of the page was the result.   The images were both taken on the Fujifilm X100 using the standard 23mm f2 Fujinon lens.

24 Hours of Le Mans: Are You Seated Comfortably?

Image
Friday at Le Mans is the traditional rest day before the 24 hour race begins at 4pm tomorrow afternoon.  The gates are still open for the public, who are given access to the pitlane where they can watch the mechanics working on the cars preparing them for the greatest endurance race in the world. Many of the drivers are taking part in VIP and media activities before heading down into the centre of Le Mans for the traditional drivers parade, which starts at 5pm today. The staff at the circuit take the opportunity to clean the grandstand seating, which is waiting for some of the 250,000 spectators that will descend on the Circuit du Mans tomorrow morning.   Using the Fujifilm X-Pro1 and Fujinon XF60mm f2.4R lens I took some shots of the seating in the main grandstand, the colours and the patterns caught my eye. Arty Kerbs in Bahrain

Image
I arrived in the Kingdom of Bahrain in the early hours of this morning and after a few hours sleep I went to the Bahrain International Circuit to sort out some things ahead of the FIA World Endurance Championship finale on Saturday.  One of my jobs as the Media Delegate is to have a look at the photographer positions around the track and while out and about I took the opportunity to grab some images for the official website and Facebook page. Here are some of the brightly coloured kerb stones here at the BIC ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PLEASE SUPPORT THIS BLOG BY CLICKING THE GOOGLE ADVERTS It doesn't cost you anything to click on an advert but we get a small fee for every click thru from Google and this helps support this blog - thank you for helping ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ALL ...
