CAPTURE NEW HORIZONS

Continuing the 10 week photographic project in and around Dunbar of pointing the camera lens above the eye-line and capturing the tops of buildings and views that we normally don't notice. This week I concentrated on stone plaques that are carved and placed on the side of buildings or place names. Three more images of my 'Look Up' photographic project in Dunbar, East Lothian.   The reason for this project is that we spend a lot of our time walking around observing things but at head height.  I like to look up to see what is up to see what is above our eye line.   The buildings in most towns are very old and we have some beautiful architecture in the United Kingdom and this is my contribution to recording the things that are out of the ordinary, or are a bit of beautiful architecture, in my new home town of Dunbar. Here are three more images from around Dunbar taken from ground level and looking up at the roof tops of our new home town in East Lothian. The bright spring sunshine provided a beautiful contrast between the buildings and the sky, casting heavy shadows across the chimney pots and roof tiles.  There was also the contrast between the slate tiles and sandstone walls of the older buildings and the glass and metalwork of the leisure centre roof. Part 2 of my new project 'Look Up' where I try to show off our new home in Dunbar in a different way.  We are all guilty of walking around observing the world at eye level.  As a photographer I tend to be always on the look out for the next picture and Dunbar has some wonderful buildings with so much history attached.   By looking up we see things that we sometimes miss when we are walking about and here are three more images from the 'Look Up' project.
