The Sound of Mull is a busy waterway for the ferries coming and going to Oban out to the islands and they all have to pass by the Lismore Lighthouse which is situation on the opposite side of the channel from Duart Point. In December 2011 the short 40-minute ferry crossing from Oban to Craignure on the Isle of Mull was a little 'choppy' as high winds has whipped up the seas in the Sound of Mull.  This is shown in these shots of the Lismore Lighthouse as the CalMac ferry "Isle of Mull" sailed by.
