Le Mans 2012 - Day Three

Image
The third day at Le Mans was wet and very wet, but this didn't deter the fans coming along to grab some photographs and autographs with their favourite drivers. This was the first day at the track following the two days of admin and technical checks in the centre of Le Mans.  Today was driver and team manager meetings and also some organisational stuff to do but I decided to get out in the rain and grab some driver shots for the website. I also decided to grab a few 'arty' shots of the cars and pitlane signage dripping in the soggy weather.  Here are a few of these shots.  It was VERY wet but that didn't deter the fans ALL IMAGES ARE THE PROPERTY OF MACLEAN PHOTOGRAPHIC AND CANNOT BE USED FOR ANY PURPOSE WITHOUT PRIOR PERMISSION. Le Mans 2012 - Day Two

Image
Today was the second day of the technical and administration checks in the Place de la Republique in Le Mans.  Being a Monday the public turnout was a little down on yesterday but there were still thousands of visitors to see the cars and drivers ahead of this weekend's 24 Hours of Le Mans.   It was also an opportunity for the media to grab a few pre event interviews with the drivers as they waited to complete the checks. Eilean Donan Castle

Image
On the road to the Isle of Skye is one of the most beautiful castles in the world and the second most photographed castle in Scotland (after Edinburgh Castle).   Eilean Donan is situated at the the strategic junction of three lochs, situated on a small island on Loch Duich. We stopped on our way to Skye to take some photographs and the first shot was taken using a Lee 'Big Stoppa' filter to give a long exposure to blur the sky and the water on the loch.    ALL IMAGES ARE THE PROPERTY OF MACLEAN PHOTOGRAPHIC AND CANNOT BE USED FOR ANY PURPOSE WITHOUT PRIOR PERMISSION. Elgol, Isle of Skye

Image
Sunset at Elgol The Isle of Skye is one of the most visited parts of Scotland and for good reason.  The island is large and the landscape is stunning.  Every year Skye attracts mountaineers, extreme sports and wildlife enthusiasts, walkers and, of course, photographers.  Elgol on the south side of the island was one place we hadn't visited before and is located on a long and windy single track road from Broadford and Torrin.  A fishing boat arrives in Elgol The little community surrounds the small harbour, which is used by fishermen and pleasure trip operators and the car park can get very busy during the day.  However this changes in the evening as the tourists head back to their hotels, guest house and camp sites and the harbour becomes a lot more peaceful. We were in Elgol for a wedding but we took the opportunity to take images of the scenery and take a trip out on the ' Bella Jane ', one of the boats taking the regular trip across t...

The Waverley

Image
We've just returned from the Isle of Skye where we attended wedding in Elgol on the south side of the island.  A lack of mobile phone coverage meant we couldn't post any updates on the MacLean Communications blog so apologies for this. When we were travelling back over the Skye Bridge we spotted a familiar sight coming towards us up the channel.  The Waverley is the world's last remaining seagoing paddle steamer and we were lucky enough to catch it on its way up the channel between Skye and the mainland at Kyle of Lochalsh.  Quickly pulling over and jumping out the car I managed to rattle off several shots of this iconic ship before continuing on our journey back to England.
