Ten Favourite Shots of 2015: No7 Patterns in Nature

Image
I love searching for patterns and textures in nature and the Fujifilm X-T1's X-Trans sensor picks up the colours and textures perfectly. In late spring the woodland around our home in Dunbar is carpeted with ferns and the pattern created by the stems folding out from the centre attracted me to take this image.   The image was taken on the X-T1 and the Fujinon 10-24mm f4 looking straight down into the centre of the plant, that stood at around 1 metre high.  I had to make sure that my feet and legs were not in the shot! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PLEASE SUPPORT THIS BLOG BY VISITING THE ADVERTISERS ON THIS PAGE By clicking on the adverts you are helping support this blog - thank you. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ALL IMAGES ARE THE PROPERTY OF MACLEAN PHOTOGRAPHIC AND CANNOT B...

Dawn at Innerwick Castle

Image
Yesterday morning I got up before dawn to head up to Innerwick Castle.  I last visited the ruin in May ( SEE BLOG HERE ) taking some overall images of the structure which is located on a rocky outcrop inside the Thornton Glen Nature Reserve.   Because the trees and vegetation had grown up around the castle there was no clear view of the castle so I decided to take close up images of the structure in the early morning light using the 10-24mm f4, 60mm f2.4 and 55-200mm lenses. I also decided to take some close up images of the vegetation in the stonework and in the trees surrounding the castle. Images taken on a Fujifilm X-T1 or X-Pro1 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PLEASE SUPPORT THIS BLOG BY CLICKING THE GOOGLE ADVERTS It doesn't cost you anything to click on an advert but we get a small fee for every click thru from Google and this helps suppo...
