Photographing East Lothian: Barns Ness

Image
In a new series of features I will be focusing on some of the areas I take guests of the MacLean Photographic workshops, starting with Barns Ness Lighthouse. Barns Ness is located a couple of miles to the east of Dunbar.  The area features two sandy beaches, one at White Sands and the other sweeping around the bay to the east of the lighthouse towards Torness Power Station. The lighthouse was built in the early 1900s, with the light going operational in October 1901.  It was built, like many of the lighthouses in Scotland, by a member of the family of lighthouse engineers, David A Stevenson, cousin to the author Robert Louis Stevenson (Treasure Island).  The lighthouse at Barns Ness was deactivated in 2005. This is the second of the new MacLean Photographic Workshop promotional videos that I have produced and posted on to the VIMEO page.  This one was shot on a very short visit to Innerwick Castle earlier in the week.  Due to the strong winds I decided to keep the flight with the DJI Mavic Pro short and I will go back in the New Year to shoot a longer sequence. Final Promo Videos for the 2016 Workshops

Image
I have finally finished all the new promo videos for the 2016 MacLean Photographic workshops.  The final 1-minute tour preview was for the Beaches and Castles workshop which can be seen in the below. This was the third video that I chose music by Adam Selzer via the FreeMusicArchive.com website.  The track is called 'Front Porch' and matches the style of music I selected for the Long Exposure Landscapes and Woodland Exploration workshops. I also kept the videos at around 60 seconds so potential clients can view them quickly and make a decision which workshop would suit them. Here is the Beaches and Castles promo video, which can also be seen on the MacLean Photographic YouTube channel HERE The second video is a bit longer and is entitled "Reasons to visit Dunbar".  This video is on the main page and will be used to promote the reasons to come to Dunbar and take part in a MacLean Photographic workshop.   This is a collection of images set to music, ...
