Tokyo Taxi

Image
I had one day in Tokyo before heading to Fuji Speedway for the next round of the World Endurance Championship and it was spent at Fujifilm's headquarters to meet and discuss the X-Series camera and lens line up with the people that design this superb camera range. Afterwards we had an hour to wander around Roppongi before we headed to dinner.  Tokyo at night is bustling and vibrant city with bright lights and heavy traffic.   This shot of a brightly coloured taxi was taken at an intersection where the neon lights from the buildings provided a multi coloured background to this long exposure shot. The image was taken on the Fujifilm X100 with an exposure of 1/9s @f8 1600iso.

People Watching in Shinjuku

Image
Yesterday afternoon, after Typhoon Phanfone had cleared the Tokyo area, we were able to get out of our hotel to explore a small part of the Japanese capital.  First we went to the Kanda Myolin Shrine (more of this tomorrow) and then jumped on the subway to Shinjuku, Tokyo's entertainment and shopping district. We got there just before sundown and every building is covered in neon signs, which throw a wonderful glow onto the streets.  We decided to capture some of the hustle and bustle of this busy district so set about taking candid images of passers by and get some movement in the images by selecting a slow shutter speed.   Here are some of the may shots I captured on the Fujifilm X-T1 and X-Pro1 + XF10-24mm f4, XF56mm f1.2, XF18mm f2 and XF55-200mm F3.5/4.8 lenses. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PLEASE SUPPO...

Tokyo at Night

Image
We spent a few hours wandering around the shopping districts in Tokyo with it bright neon signs providing a multi coloured spectacle to the streets of the Japanese capital city. Earlier we'd seen the Toyko Tower, which looks like a modern take on the Eiffel Tower in Paris.  Built in 1958, it is slightly more modern than the famous Parisien version, and is 333m high. After a few hours we took a taxi to the Hyatt Park Hotel and sat in the New York Bar on the 52nd floor with its spectacular panoramic views of Tokyo. Some more images of Tokyo at night - all images taken on a Fujifilm Finepix X100 + 23mm f2 or 19mm f2 lens (WCL X100 fitted) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PLEASE SUPPORT THIS BLOG BY CLICKING THE GOOGLE ADVERTS It doesn't cost you anything to click on an advert but we get a small fee for every click thru from Googl...
