WEC Press Conference in Black and White

Image
2015 FIA World Endurance Champion Mark Webber (Porsche) While at the recent FIA World Endurance Championship test at Le Castellet in the South of France a short press conference was held to promote the first race of the season at Silverstone on the 15-17 April.  I attended in my capacity as the FIA Media Delegate and took some shots of some of the participants.  However I decided the colour shots were a bit 'meh' so I converted the images to monochrome using NIK Silver EFEX Pro2 software and I am much happier with the results. All of the images were shot on the Fujifilm X-Pro2 and the XF50-140mm f2.8. Views of CoTA From Up On High

Image
The Circuit of The Americas (CoTA) in Texas has a 77 metre high Observation Tower that has  breath-taking views of the track, the Central Texas countryside and the Austin skyline. Yesterday afternoon I took the opportunity to go up the tower with World Champion Anthony Davidson and Japan's Kazuki Nakajima to get some shots from the top. The Porsche GT3 Cup cars were on track for their Free Practice session and with the colourful run off areas providing a counter point to the cars 250 feet below us on the observation platform. Using the Fujifilm X-T1 and the XF10-24mm f4 wide angle lens I captured a few images, including two panorama shots of the circuit. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PLEASE SUPPORT THIS BLOG BY VISITING THE ADVERTISERS ON THIS PAGE By clicking on the adverts you are helping support this blog - thank you. ----------------------------...

24 Hours of Le Mans - Interviewing Drivers

Image
The past two days have been very busy as the countdown to the 2015 24 Hours of Le Mans started on Sunday with scrutineering in the centre of Le Mans.  The Place de la Republique in the city centre has a distinct party atmosphere as all the cars and the drivers are presented to the public and the media ahead of the big race on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 June. This has given us the opportunity to interview some of the drivers for the World Endurance Championship website and social media and over the two days we conducted 25 interviews, which were recorded using the Fujifilm X-T1 fitted with a 35mm f1.4 lens.  I employed a second X-T1 fitted with the new 50-140mm f2.8 to take the drivers portraits while they were doing the interview with my colleague.  Using the f2.8 aperture really tested the ability of the lens and I was extremely impressed with the results. The final interview of the two days was with reigning LMGTE World Champion Gianmaria Bruni, who races for Fer...
